The Eye (2008)
Rather unexciting supernatural movie based on the Singapore-Hong Kong horror flick by the Pang Brothers also named "The Eye", stars Jessica Alba as the blind girl who can see dead people when her eyesight has been restored through surgery.
While the original movie is creepy and atmospheric, this remake is predictable Hollywood horror fare and therefore does deliver the necessary jolts to make it memorable. The Eye tries hard to up the ante on the "Sixth Sense" I see dead people... but here again the makers fail to understand the dynamics of what made this low key horror movie a success. Sorry, back to the drawing board....The Eye is rated: PG-13 for violence/terror and disturbing content.
