Another boring thriller / horror movie from M Night Shyamalan. Only God knows why he continues to make "intelligent" movies that is devoid of any excitement whatsoever. After his reasonable good first two movies, Night has gone into an auto movie making mode churning the same type of movies that unfortunately has become his trademark.

The Happening retreads the basic scenario of the world gone mad with a kind of virus which makes people commit suicide for no apparent reason. This time the cause of the virus attack is some kind of plant neuro-toxins. In the hands of a competent director, the Happening could have gone somewhere. Unfortunately, Shyamalan, the ending is obvious and disappointing. Even actor, Mark Wahlberg can't save this movie from snoozeland.

Fans of the genre may get to see a little gore sporadically. Other than that it is a non-happening. Disappointing, disappointing, disappointing.

This movie may not be suitable for children because of the sometimes graphic suicide scenes and language.
