Muppet like creatures usually don't cut it in movies, with the exception of Yoda in Star Wars. This movie is no exception.

The young audience won't find Where the Wild Things Are particularly interesting or endearing. The characters are not funny or larger than life and the plot does not have a big memorable climax.

It is mostly about big fuzzy cutie muppets who don't do much on screen.

Where the Wild Things Are and The Fantastic Mr Fox proves that what works in children story books may not necessarily spin magic or big bucks on the big screens.
